Pretty sure that at least David and Jack will see this at some point.
Dana here with late Groucho birthday greetings.

Forgive me for being late, but we were getting our heads out of the
water (almost literally) here in Asheville at the beginning of
October! Not a terrible amount of damage to our neighborhood and none
to our home, but the power was out for ten days (we are lucky - have a
whole house generator) and the water is finally back on but not
potable yet. There was no internet (not even via the cell system) for
around ten days. Dug up an old AM/FM radio to get ANY info or news
about the local situation. We will survive this, but many were and
still are far worse off.

Add to all this that one of our three senior kitties passed away from
lymphoma yesterday. And, my husband is experiencing high liver enzyme
readings and unexplained weight loss (more tests and imaging to come
this week). It's been a rough autumn here in the western North
Carolina mountains, to say the least!

Send good luck and good wishes our way if you see this. We could use
it down our way!

Hi Dana and Groucho Fans,

I'm glad that you made it through the storms. We did as well. The last
one came directly over my town and neighborhood. Aside from roofing tiles
and lots of trees destroyed the big issue for most is flooding. Most of
the areas are able to clean up now.

Lost power after the last storm when our power was given to other
neighborhoods and the transformer eventually blew. That was about a week.
There was power about a mile from here so you could travel if you needed
to. There was no gas or stores open for about a week.

We're in Bradenton, FL. Governor DeSantis and his team did a wonderful job
making sure many could get out before the storms and repair our area after
the storms.

A big thank you to all the first responders from everywhere that helped
communities affected by the storms.

God watched over our family this last year. I was in and out of the
hospital several times due to issues unrelated to the storms. The worst
was a fall while walking the dog that fractured four bones in my foot.
That led to a long recovery. My wife and I are doing well now.

I watched a few Groucho routines on youtube. I hope that youtube and
others keep the Marx Brothers alive for many gnerations to come.

Thank you Dana.

David,

I'm sorry to hear what you've been through but I'm glad that all has
worked out for you and your wife also. Under similar circumstances I'd
like to hope I would have kept my cool by following Chico's admonition
in A Night At The Opera that there is no sanity clause! All the best.

Hey David (and all who may still see these posts) -

Sounds like you, too, have had an eventful 2024. Happy to hear you
are doing better now. This getting older isn't for sissies, that's
for sure! And it would be nice if the weather would calm down a bit
and give everyone a break.

Here's wishing you and everyone a Happy 2025. Things are looking up
here heathwise, so fingers crossed for a better new year!

Take care, and thanks for replying, David!

Lol! Thanks for the shout out! It made my day. Happy BD wishes to
Groucho. But, more importantly, sincere wishes, hopes and prayers that
everything works out for you and your husband. To paraphrase Groucho
from Duck Soup, read the second wishes first!
